Our Work
Agriculture issues in Yukon are shaped by distinctive northern realities including remote access, a short growing season, high input costs, and limited infrastructure. The Yukon Agricultural Association addresses these challenges through a producer-led, membership-driven, evidence-based approach.
YAA is grounded in grassroots input. Its Board and membership actively guide the organization’s policy and advocacy efforts through involvement in advisory bodies such as the Agriculture Industry Advisory Committee, external focus and working groups, as well as YAA’s own internal standing and ad hoc committees.
The Association also plays a central role in convening the sector through key events, including the Yukon Farm Fair, North of 60 Agriculture Conference, Agricultural Banquet, and the annual YAA AGM, all of which serve as important forums for dialogue, collaboration, and industry development. Through public outreach campaigns, producer engagement, and partnerships with territorial and federal agencies, YAA works to build a connected and informed agricultural community.
YAA’s advocacy is informed by sector-specific studies, needs assessments, and data collection, ensuring its positions are grounded in evidence and reflect the realities and priorities of Yukon producers.
